Heartbreakers 18U Elite Grabs Lead In Third Inning For Victory Over CT Lady Knights 18u Gold

Heartbreakers 18U Elite ran off with the lead late in the game in an 11-3 victory over CT Lady Knights 18u Gold on Sunday. The game was tied at three with the Heartbreakers batting in the bottom of the third when Ryleigh Bolyard homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
The Heartbreakers secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the third inning. Bolyard, Lauren Smith, Anabelle Stone, and Leah Sothoron each had RBIs in the frame.

After CT Lady Knights 18u Gold scored one run in the top of the second, the Heartbreakers answered with one of their own. CT Lady Knights 18u Gold scored when Williams singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. The Heartbreakers then answered when Kamerin Martinez induced Smith to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

McClain was the winning pitcher for the Heartbreakers. She went four innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out two and walking one.

Paige Wilhelm went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Heartbreakers in hits. The Heartbreakers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Alex Karamihas had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
