Pitching By Lindsey Windsor Shuts Out Firebirds, Heartbreakers 18U Elite Takes The Win

Lindsey Windsor had all the right stuff on Saturday for Heartbreakers 18U Elite, allowing zero runs and besting Firebirds by a score of 8-0. The Heartbreakers secured the victory thanks to five runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Paige Wilhelm and Nikki West, a home run by Windsor, and a fielder’s choice by Ryleigh Bolyard.

The Heartbreakers got things moving in the first inning. Bolyard doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

A double by Katie Swatek in the fourth inning was a positive for Firebirds.
Windsor got the win for Heartbreakers. She surrendered zero runs on one hit over five innings, striking out five.

Ella Meyer took the loss for Firebirds. She went two innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits, striking out two and walking zero.

The Heartbreakers had 11 hits in the game and one home run on the day. West, Victoria McClain, Windsor, and Lauren Smith each racked up multiple hits.

Swatek went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Firebirds in hits.
